Communication is bi-directional: if barcode data fails to reach the host, the base station triggers an error beep at the scanner to confirm the loss. The desktop-form-factor unit weighs 5.29 oz and measures 4 in wide by 4.5 in deep by 1.4 in tall, with an LED indicator for status monitoring.
