The Datalogic Magellan 9800i is a high-performance in-counter barcode scanner designed for demanding retail and grocery checkout environments. Flush-mounted into the checkout counter, it uses advanced digital imaging to read both 1D and 2D barcodes seamlessly across all planes without requiring cashiers to orient items, reducing rescans and accelerating throughput. An optional Top Down Reader adds a large topside field of view and a customer-facing imager for mobile coupons and loyalty codes, while optional integrated scale configurations support single- and dual-interval weighing. The ScaleSentry shrink monitoring system helps reduce losses at the point of sale. Multi-interface connectivity — including USB, RS-232, and IBM 46XX — simplifies integration with diverse POS systems, and a sapphire glass scanning window ensures long-term durability.
