The Honeywell Solaris 7820 is a hands-free vertical mini-slot presentation scanner built for small-item, high-volume retail checkout environments. Its omnidirectional laser scan pattern — delivering 1800 scan lines per second across 5 fields of 4 parallel lines — allows cashiers to clear items on the first pass with minimal concern for orientation or barcode print quality, down to 5.0 mil bar codes. Compatible with USB and serial host interfaces and drawing power directly from the host's 12-volt USB or serial port, the 7820 integrates cleanly into most existing POS enclosures in convenience, drug, specialty, liquor, and grocery stores. A built-in RF EAS antenna with Checkpoint and Sensormatic interlock, a single-digit visual diagnostic indicator, and remote Flash upgrade capability help reduce on-site service costs and lower total cost of ownership.
