Running Windows CE 5.0 Professional Edition on a 312 MHz XScale processor, the Datalogic 942251000 is a wireless handheld terminal in the Skorpio line built for retail store-floor and stock-room environments. Its 1D laser scanning engine reads EAN/UPC, Code 39, Code 128, EAN-128, Code 93, Codabar, Code 11, Code 2 of 5, Plessey and MSI symbologies, while IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN keeps it connected on the move. The unit ships with 64 MB of RAM and 64 MB of flash memory, and accepts CompactFlash and miniSD expansion cards for additional storage. An alphanumeric keyboard and a 240 x 320 color LCD handle operator input and display, and the Li-Ion battery supports field use. A 60-inch drop specification to concrete reflects the rugged construction suited to harsh handling in distribution and retail operations.
