Description

The Verkada AD64 is a cloud-connected door reader with keypad designed for IT and security teams that need flexible, enterprise-grade access control across commercial, corporate, education, and multi-site environments. It accepts a broad range of credential types — including 125 KHz low-frequency proximity cards, high-frequency Verkada DESFire EV3 cards or fobs, Apple Wallet, mobile NFC, and Bluetooth via the Verkada Pass app — so organizations can support existing card infrastructure while adopting modern mobile credentials. The integrated 6- to 14-digit keypad enables PIN-only access or badge-plus-PIN two-factor authentication, and the Secure Bluetooth Intent Unlock feature prevents accidental door releases by combining proximity detection with a deliberate gesture. Rated IP65 and IK08, the AD64 handles outdoor and harsh-environment deployments, and its Secure Channel OSDP v2 communication over RS-485 keeps the reader-to-controller link encrypted. A 10-year warranty and single-gang mounting plate round out a reader built for long-term, low-maintenance deployment.

What credential types does the Verkada AD64 Card Reader support?
The AD64 supports 125 KHz low-frequency proximity cards, high-frequency NFC credentials including Verkada DESFire EV3 cards or fobs and MIFARE DESFire card serial numbers, mobile credentials via the Verkada Pass app (BLE), mobile NFC, and Apple Wallet, plus a 6- to 14-digit PIN that can be used alone or as a second factor alongside another credential.
How does Intent Unlock work on the Verkada AD64?
Intent Unlock requires both proximity-based Bluetooth authentication and a deliberate physical action in front of the reader — such as a hand wave — before the door unlocks, reducing the risk of unintentional access grants.
Is the Verkada AD64 suitable for outdoor or harsh-environment installations?
Yes, the AD64 carries IP65 and IK08 ratings and an operating temperature range of -40 to 149°F (-40 to 65°C) with 5–90% RH non-condensing humidity tolerance, making it appropriate for outdoor and demanding environments.
What certifications does the Verkada AD64 hold, and what warranty does it carry?
The AD64 is certified to FCC, CE, UL 294, UL 62368-1/CSA C22.2, and CAN/ULC-60839-11-1:2016 standards, and it includes a 10-year warranty.
What is included in the box with the Verkada AD64, and what controller connection does it require?
The AD64 ships with a single gang mounting plate, a T10 screwdriver, two wall mount screws, and two M3 machine screws; it requires an RS-485 connection to a compatible Verkada access controller or TD52 Intercom and communicates over Secure Channel OSDP v2.
What are the physical dimensions and power requirements of the Verkada AD64?
The AD64 measures 5.2" (13.2 cm) tall, 3.2" (8.1 cm) wide, and 0.9" (2.3 cm) deep, weighs 0.47 lb (0.2 kg), and draws 12V at a maximum of 250mA.
