Shipped as a kit with a USB cable (CAB-550), the Datalogic PD9531-HPK1 is a corded handheld 2D area imager built around Direct Part Marking (DPM) capability, reading laser- and chemically etched, dot-peened and ink-jet codes at a typical range of contact to 4-5 cm / 1.5-1.9 in. High density optics extend that range to 15.0 cm / 5.9 in for very small, high-resolution standard printed codes. The imager autodiscriminates all standard 1D codes including GS1 DataBar linear symbologies, and handles 2D formats -- Aztec Code, China Han Xin Code, Data Matrix, MaxiCode, Micro QR Code and QR Code -- plus nine postal codes and a full suite of stacked codes including PDF417, MicroPDF417 and MacroPDF. Host interfaces cover USB, Serial and Keyboard Wedge. The black and yellow chassis measures 8.3 in tall, 2.9 in wide and 4.3 in deep at 11.64 oz, and the unit carries RoHS, China RoHS and REACH compliance.

The Datalogic PowerScan PD9531 is a corded industrial handheld barcode scanner built for operations and IT teams working in demanding environments such as manufacturing, warehouse and logistics centers, and shipping and receiving applications. Part of the PowerScan 9500 series, it uses a 2D area imager to read any orientation of 1D, 2D, stacked, and postal codes from contact to over 1.0 m / 3.3 ft, depending on barcode resolution, eliminating the need to align labels precisely and keeping throughput high. Its ergonomic handle and well-balanced weight at 11.64 oz reduce operator fatigue during scan-intensive shifts, while a soft-pulsed white illumination light is gentler on the eyes than traditional flash-based systems. Multi-interface connectivity via USB, Serial, and Keyboard Wedge ensures straightforward integration with existing workstations and host systems.
