The imager autodiscriminates all standard 1D codes including GS1 DataBar linear codes and decodes a full 2D symbology set -- Aztec Code, China Han Xin Code, Data Matrix, MaxiCode, Micro QR Code and QR Code -- alongside PDF417, MicroPDF417, MacroPDF, nine postal formats and a complete range of stacked and composite codes. Host connectivity covers USB, Serial and Keyboard Wedge interfaces. The black and yellow handheld chassis measures 8.3 in tall, 2.9 in wide and 4.3 in deep, weighing 11.64 oz, and is manufactured in Slovakia.

The Datalogic PowerScan PD9531 is a corded industrial handheld barcode scanner built for operations and IT teams working in demanding environments such as manufacturing, warehouse and logistics centers, and shipping and receiving applications. Part of the PowerScan 9500 series, it uses a 2D area imager to read any orientation of 1D, 2D, stacked, and postal codes from contact to over 1.0 m / 3.3 ft, depending on barcode resolution, eliminating the need to align labels precisely and keeping throughput high. Its ergonomic handle and well-balanced weight at 11.64 oz reduce operator fatigue during scan-intensive shifts, while a soft-pulsed white illumination light is gentler on the eyes than traditional flash-based systems. Multi-interface connectivity via USB, Serial, and Keyboard Wedge ensures straightforward integration with existing workstations and host systems.
