Description
The Datalogic VLASE Series is a family of solid-state laser marking systems designed for machine builders, system integrators, and OEM manufacturers operating in general manufacturing, automotive, electronics, and aerospace industries. Built around a consolidated solid-state resonator architecture, the VLASE Series delivers direct part marking on high-reflectivity materials, heat-sensitive parts, and high-stability thermoplastic components. Available in infrared (1064 nm), green (532 nm), and UV (355 nm) wavelengths across multiple power levels, the series supports standing, rotary axis, and on-the-fly marking in motion. An embedded controller running Windows Embedded Standard 7, combined with Ethernet, RS-232, and USB interfaces, simplifies integration into PLC and industrial environments. The air-cooled design with a removable dust filter maintains full-power operation across a temperature range of 5°C to 40°C (41°F to 104°F).
What industries and applications is the Datalogic VLASE laser marking system designed for?
The VLASE Series targets automotive, electronics, aerospace, and general manufacturing, covering applications such as coating removal and paint stripping for night and day use, high-contrast direct part marking on high-reflectivity materials, and traceability marking on heat-sensitive parts like silicon wafers, memory cards, and ICs.
What communication interfaces does the Datalogic VLASE Series support for factory integration?
The VLASE Series provides Ethernet, RS-232, and USB interfaces, and supports Ethernet protocol for integration with PLCs and industrial environments, as well as dedicated M12 connectors for photocell and encoder inputs.
What operating temperature range and cooling method does the Datalogic VLASE Series use?
The system is air-cooled with a removable dust filter and is rated for operation from 5°C to 40°C (41°F to 104°F) at full power.
What power supply does the Datalogic VLASE Series require, and what is the maximum power draw?
The embedded power supply accepts 100–240 VAC at 50/60 Hz, with a maximum consumption of 600 W.
Does the Datalogic VLASE Series support automated multi-axis marking lines?
Yes, the embedded controller includes up to 4 independent stepper motor axis driving capabilities, supporting rotary indexers, x-y tables, and z-axis management, and the system supports on-the-fly marking in motion as well as rotary axis operation.
What software is used to develop and manage marking stations on the Datalogic VLASE Series?
The LIGHTER Suite is the provided software interface; it supports standalone mode with built-in control resources and master-slave mode with a supervising computer, offering local and remote laser diagnostics, I/O control, axis control, and laser test and setup.
