The Datalogic GFS4170 is a USB-interface fixed-mount 1D barcode scan module distinguished from its RS-232 sibling by dual USB operating modes: USB-HID for keyboard emulation and easy integration, and USB COM for virtual serial communications. Powered by a CCD image sensor with an LED light source, it scans at 320 scan/s and resolves barcodes down to 3 mil. Depth of field spans 2 in to 6.3 in at 5 mil, widening to 1.2 in to 15.7 in at 13 mil, and reaching 23.6 in at 20 mil, covering a broad range of fixed-mount installation geometries. The module autodiscriminates all standard 1D codes including GS1 DataBar linear codes, measures 2.2 in wide by 2.3 in deep by 1.5 in tall, and weighs 6 oz. RoHS and China RoHS compliant, it ships from Slovakia and carries an 18-month limited warranty.
