The Verkada GC31 is a cellular gateway designed for IT and security teams that need to extend Verkada device deployments to locations where traditional wired infrastructure is impractical. Available in indoor and outdoor variants, it is purpose-built for environments such as parking lots, construction sites, campuses, and streetlight poles, making it well suited to sectors including commercial real estate, government, education, and critical infrastructure. The gateway accepts multiple power inputs — including a 54V DC barrel jack and, on the outdoor GC31-E model, IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 PoE++ and a 12–36V DC terminal block — and delivers up to 60W total across two 802.3bt PoE++ output ports. Dual Nano 4FF SIM slots with automatic failover keep connectivity resilient, while full cloud management through Verkada Command enables remote diagnostics, power cycling, and GPS-based status monitoring from any location. The outdoor GC31-E carries an IP66 weather rating and operates from -40°C to 50°C / -40°F to 122°F, supporting reliable deployment in harsh environments.

What are the power input and PoE output capabilities of the Verkada GC31 indoor cellular gateway?
The GC31 accepts a 54V DC barrel jack (6.5/3.0mm OD/ID) and comes with a 100-240V AC/DC power adapter. It provides two 802.3bt PoE++ capable output ports with a combined power budget of 60W, and its own power consumption is 9W (not including connected devices).
What is included in the box with the Verkada GC31 indoor cellular gateway?
The GC31 ships with two SMA antennas, an AC/DC power adapter and cord, a mount plate, four wall anchors, a T10 security torx screwdriver, four M4 x 25mm PH2 wall screws, and an RJ45 port cover.
What are the environmental and physical specifications of the Verkada GC31 indoor gateway?
The GC31 indoor unit measures 125mm x 125mm x 30mm, weighs 0.6kg, and operates between -10°C and 50°C at 5-90% RH non-condensing. It can be wall mounted or secured on a tabletop using the Kensington lock slot, and carries a 10-year warranty.
Does the Verkada GC31 require a separate data plan license, and does it support cameras and video devices?
Yes, each GC31 requires a Cellular Gateway License, which includes unlimited data for Verkada non-video devices such as access controllers and sensors. Unlimited data for Verkada video devices such as cameras or intercoms requires an additional add-on data plan license purchased separately.
Can the Verkada GC31 be remotely managed and troubleshot without an on-site visit?
Yes, the GC31 is managed through Verkada Command, which lets administrators view gateway status and GPS location, run packet captures and speed tests, and remotely power cycle the gateway and any connected devices. If the gateway goes offline, it will automatically power cycle itself after 30 minutes.
