The Datalogic SG2-Base is a Type 2 safety light curtain designed for machine safety engineers and automation system integrators who need reliable operator protection around hazardous industrial equipment. Using infrared multibeam optoelectronic sensing, it detects hands, arms, or body presence within a guarded zone and immediately opens its dual PNP OSSD outputs to halt dangerous machine motion. Available with 30 mm, 50 mm, or 90 mm resolution and protected heights from 150 mm to 1800 mm in 150 mm steps, it scales to a wide range of guarding applications across food and beverage, textile, wood, metal, automotive, and electronics manufacturing environments. A compact 32.3 x 36.9 mm cross-section, optical emitter-receiver synchronization without inter-unit wiring, IP65-rated housing, and an operating distance of up to 19 m simplify installation and keep integration costs low.
