It reads all standard 1D linear codes including GS1 DataBar, plus a full range of 2D symbologies — Aztec Code, China Han Xin Code, Data Matrix, MaxiCode, Micro QR Code, and QR Code — as well as stacked codes such as PDF417, MicroPDF417, MacroPDF, and EAN/JAN Composites, and ten postal code formats. The black and yellow handheld chassis measures 8.3 in tall, 2.9 in wide, and 4.3 in deep, weighing 14.60 oz with a removable battery rated for more than one shift of intensive scanning. The Datalogic PowerScan PM9500 is a ruggedized cordless handheld 2D area imager designed for IT and operations teams deploying scanners in demanding industrial environments such as warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. Powered by Datalogic's STAR Cordless System operating at 433 MHz or 910 MHz, it delivers wireless freedom with seamless roaming and point-to-point or multi-point configurations supporting up to 32 readers per radio receiver. Its omni-directional imaging engine reads all standard 1D and 2D codes, including direct part marks, from contact up to over 1.0 m depending on barcode resolution. An IP65-rated housing and drop resistance of 2.0 m / 6.6 ft onto concrete ensure reliable operation in harsh settings, while a removable Lithium-Ion battery rated for 30,000+ scans per charge supports more than one full shift of intensive scanning. Ethernet, RS-232, and USB interfaces simplify integration into existing host systems.
