IRONMAN Switzerland Relies on Levata Card Printing Services for High-Attendance Events

The Challenge

As IRONMAN Switzerland began planning its upcoming events in Rapperswil, the organisation understood the critical importance of seamless behind-the-scenes operations—ensuring staff and guests could move effortlessly and reach their designated areas without disruption. At large-scale events with complex layouts, like triathlons, it's critical to visually identify who has access to restricted areas—whether it's thousands of athletes, volunteers, media personnel, or spectators. Equally important is the ability to verify credentials quickly to keep operations running smoothly. For athletes in particular, having a reliable method to access medical information and emergency contacts is not just a convenience—it's a vital safety measure.

The Solution

Its Meppen, Germany office first partnered with IRONMAN Switzerland in 2022, since producing 3,500 ID cards for two major racing events—a collaboration that quickly earned Levata the organization's trust.

"The ID cards used are a credit card sized PVC card printed on both sides and come already partially personalized by our card printing service. This is what is known as offset printing. The cards are punched in the middle at the top so that they can be attached to lanyards or alternative badge holders, which are also available from Levata. We dispatched the order within a very short time. With our industrial ID card printing machine, which is over eleven meters long, we can produce around 100,000 cards a week in Meppen alone," explains Marcus Brand, Managing Director of Levata's Germany operation.

The Results

IRONMAN Switzerland uses the ID cards to function as emergency number badges, team leader badges, and VIP attendee badges.
