Curative, founded in January 2020 for sepsis diagnosis, pivoted to COVID-19 testing in March 2020. They developed an oral-swab test with proprietary software and established pop-up testing sites including drive-thrus, kiosks, and vans. Rapid expansion to 15,000 testing locations across 48 states created critical demand for barcode labeling on test tubes with patient information to ensure accuracy and 24–48 hour results while maintaining HIPAA compliance and secure data processing workflows.

Levata deployed linear imager scanners selected for: basic design enabling rapid deployment, simplistic usability facilitating healthcare worker onboarding, durability for continuous long-shift performance, value pricing enabling mass scalability, and faster data capture supporting speeds up to 100 scans per second. Beyond deploying over 1,000 scanners, Levata managed procurement, post-deployment services with 24/7 technical support, and staging, kitting, and shipment logistics for all testing sites.
By combining adaptability and speed through seamless deployment, Curative operated large testing sites including Dodger Stadium, conducting 20,000 tests daily at single locations. Faster, fail-proof data capture enabled healthcare professionals to triage patients and allocate resources effectively.
