The Datalogic Heron HD3100 is a corded 1D CCD handheld barcode scanner designed for point-of-sale environments in fashion and specialty retail. Using a 2,500-pixel CCD solid-state imager, it delivers a maximum read rate of 270 reads/sec across all standard 1D codes, including GS1 DataBar linear, stacked, and postal variants, making it well-suited for high-traffic checkout lanes where throughput matters. Datalogic's patented Green Spot technology provides instant good-read feedback directly on the barcode, reducing mis-scans and speeding up transactions. The scanner switches automatically between handheld and hands-free operation, connects via USB, and withstands repeated drops from 1.5 m onto concrete.
