The PD20 is an add-on module that transforms Zebra compatible tablets and handheld mobile computers into mobile point of sale (mPOS) terminals. The PD20 solution can be added to already compatible devices or purchased with new devices that already have it. Retailers can now make purchases anywhere in the store with payment enabled. Validation and ticket purchases on buses, light trains, and subways are made possible by transit operations. When visitors arrive at the hotel, check-in and check-out can be completed. At the customer's location, delivery drivers can accept payment.

The Zebra PD20 Secure Card Reader is an add-on payment module designed for retail, hospitality, transportation, logistics, and field services organizations that need to accept card payments away from a fixed checkout. It attaches directly to compatible Zebra mobile computers and tablets — including the TC52x, TC57x, TC53, TC58, TC73, TC78, and ET40/ET45 8-inch tablets — by replacing the existing battery door, turning those devices into fully functional mobile POS stations. The PD20 supports tap, swipe, and insert card modalities via NFC, a Smart Card reader, and a triple-track bi-directional Magnetic Stripe Reader, and is EMV Level 2 and PCI PTS 6.x certified for Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, UnionPay, and Interac. Power and data are delivered through the host device's USB port, and the integrated rechargeable LiPo battery provides 10-plus hours of operation — sufficient for the longest shift.
