The Honeywell MS9540-38 ships as a scanner-only unit in light gray with a low-speed USB host interface — the cable is sold separately. It reads all standard 1D symbologies using a single-line laser light source at a maximum scan resolution of 5 mil, with depth-of-field ranges extending from 0.5 in to 2.0 in at 5.2 mil and out to 1.0 in to 10.0 in at 21 mil, covering the full spread of label densities common in point-of-sale, document processing and inventory environments. The handheld chassis measures 7.8 in deep, 3.1 in wide and 2.2 in tall, weighing 5.30 oz. Supported symbologies include Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, UPC-A, ISBT 128, GS1 DataBar Expanded Stacked and more than 30 additional linear and stacked formats. The unit complies with RoHS and WEEE directives and carries a five-year limited warranty.
