Supplied as a kit with an RS-232 cable and a 110V power supply, the Honeywell MK7820-00B41 is a wired, desktop-form-factor presentation scanner drawing 12 V DC from the host system. Its laser light source delivers omni-directional reading down to a 5 mil maximum scan resolution, with a depth of field that ranges from 0 in to 2 in at 5.2 mil and extends to 0 in to 12 in at 26 mil, covering the full spread of barcode densities found in small-item retail checkout. All standard symbologies plus GS1 Databar are supported across four on-board interfaces -- serial, keyboard wedge, USB and IBM 468X/469X -- alongside an integrated RF EAS antenna with Checkpoint and Sensormatic interlock compatibility. The scanner ships in charcoal gray and measures 6 in high by 6 in wide by 3.6 in deep, weighing 1.54 lb. The Honeywell Solaris 7820 is a hands-free vertical mini-slot presentation scanner built for small-item, high-volume retail checkout environments. Its omnidirectional laser scan pattern — delivering 1800 scan lines per second across 5 fields of 4 parallel lines — allows cashiers to clear items on the first pass with minimal concern for orientation or barcode print quality, down to 5.0 mil bar codes. Compatible with USB and serial host interfaces and drawing power directly from the host's 12-volt USB or serial port, the 7820 integrates cleanly into most existing POS enclosures in convenience, drug, specialty, liquor, and grocery stores. A built-in RF EAS antenna with Checkpoint and Sensormatic interlock, a single-digit visual diagnostic indicator, and remote Flash upgrade capability help reduce on-site service costs and lower total cost of ownership.
