The unit ships with a 7-inch shielded USB cable and reads 1D and 2D barcodes through a 1920 x 1200 imager across a scanning distance of 7.60 in, with a 54-degree horizontal and 36-degree vertical field of view. Skew tolerance reaches 70 degrees and roll tolerance a full 360 degrees, easing single-pass capture regardless of label orientation. Code 39 resolves from 3 mil to 10 mil, DataMatrix from 5 mil to 15 mil, and the imager operates in ambient light up to 86100 lux with a minimum print contrast of 15%. Host interfaces include USB, serial, keyboard wedge and IBM 46XX. Drawing 480 mA active and 240 mA in standby, the Midnight Black unit measures 6 in wide by 6 in tall by 3.4 in deep and carries an IP52 ingress protection rating with operating temperature from 32 degrees F to 122 degrees F.
