The Datalogic GFE4490-K20 ships with a serial RS232 interface, distinguishing this fixed-mount kit configuration within the Gryphon GFE4400 family. The integrated 2D imager resolves down to 7 mil and scans omni-directionally, covering 1D linear codes including GS1 DataBar, 2D symbologies such as Aztec Code, China Han Xin Code, Data Matrix, MaxiCode, Micro QR Code and QR Code, stacked codes including PDF417 and MicroPDF417, and ten postal formats. Depth of field reaches 13.1 in for a 10 mil Code 39 target, 16.5 in for a 13 mil EAN symbol, and 6.3 in for a 10 mil QR Code. The engine itself measures 1.9 in deep by 1.7 in wide by 1.1 in tall and weighs 1.80 oz, making it suited for integration into self-service kiosks, ticket readers, document handling systems and medical laboratory equipment. A USB cable is sold separately.

The Datalogic Gryphon I GFE4400 is a compact 2D fixed-mount scan engine designed for OEM integrators embedding barcode reading capability into self-service kiosks, price verifiers, ticket readers, document handling systems, medical laboratory equipment, and vending machines. Its Wide VGA imager captures all standard 1D linear codes, a full range of 2D symbologies including QR Code and Data Matrix, postal codes, and stacked formats such as PDF417 — down to 4 mils resolution for 1D and PDF417. Omnidirectional reading with high motion tolerance keeps throughput steady even when items are presented at awkward angles, while the highly visible 4-Dot aimer with center cross helps define a precise reading zone in dense barcode environments. Datalogic's patented Green Spot technology provides immediate visual good-read confirmation, and support for RS-232, USB COM, and USB HID Keyboard interfaces simplifies integration into existing host systems.
