The Datalogic DataVS2 is a compact, fully embedded vision sensor series designed for automation engineers and machine builders who need reliable, image-based inspection and identification on the production line. Integrating optics, a red or infrared LED illuminator, and electronics into a single aluminium alloy and ABS housing weighing just 125 g, the DataVS2 handles applications across packaging, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, electronics, metal working, and logistics — from logo and stamp verification to barcode, Data Matrix, and QR Code reading. The sensor is configured via PC over Ethernet using a step-by-step software wizard, and stores up to 20 inspections in memory to manage multiple product types on the same line. Four model tiers — Object Recognition, Advanced Object Recognition, Identification, and Professional — scale capability from basic pattern matching through full barcode decoding and 360° defect detection, all within an IP50-rated, 24 Vdc housing rated from -10 °C to +50 °C.
