Description

The Datalogic DX8200A is a fixed-mount, omnidirectional laser barcode scanner engineered for system integrators and operations teams working in high-throughput transport and logistics environments. Designed for automated conveyor lines, it delivers 1000 scans/s using a single-cross X-pattern laser and reads up to 22 symbologies — including Code 39, Code 128, and EAN/UPC — with multilabel recognition of up to 10 different symbologies in a single pass. ASTRA technology provides an extended depth of field with real-time electronic focusing, while ACR4 code reconstruction maintains high read rates even on damaged or poorly printed labels. The PackTrack function minimizes the gap required between objects to increase throughput, and built-in Ethernet TCP/IP, Profibus, and DeviceNet connectivity supports flexible integration. An onboard LCD display, keypad, and the GENIUS configuration tool simplify setup and diagnostics without requiring a dedicated PC.

What barcode symbologies can the Datalogic DX8200A read, and how many can it handle in a single reading phase?
The DX8200A reads 22 symbologies, including the 2/5 family, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, EAN/UPC, EAN 128, and ISBN 128, and can decode up to 10 different symbologies during the same reading phase.
What scanning speed and reading pattern does the Datalogic DX8200A use?
The DX8200A operates at 1000 scans per second (500 scans per line) using a single-cross reading pattern, enabling omnidirectional barcode capture on conveyor systems.
What communication interfaces are available on the Datalogic DX8200A?
The main port supports RS232 and RS485 (full-duplex and half-duplex) at up to 115.2 Kbit/s, an auxiliary RS232 port is also provided, and optional interfaces include Lonworks (Master/Slave), Ethernet, Profibus, and DeviceNet.
What are the environmental and protection ratings for the Datalogic DX8200A?
The DX8200A carries an IP64 protection class as standard, with IP65 available on request, and is rated for operating temperatures of 0 to 50 °C (32 to 122 °F) with humidity up to 90% non-condensing.
What industries and applications is the Datalogic DX8200A designed for?
It is engineered for transport and logistics environments, including postal and courier parcel sorting, automated warehousing identification, airport baggage sorting, cargo handling, and loading/unloading systems.
How is the Datalogic DX8200A configured and diagnosed in the field?
