Its high-performance area imager reads omnidirectionally, covering 1D codes including GS1 DataBar linear symbologies, 2D codes — Aztec Code, China Han Xin Code, Data Matrix, MaxiCode, Micro QR Code and QR Code — stacked codes such as PDF417, MicroPDF417, MacroPDF and GS1 DataBar families, plus nine postal code formats including IMB, KIX Post and Royal Mail Code (RM4SCC). The scanner reads from contact to over 1.0 m / 3.3 ft depending on barcode resolution. USB, Serial and Keyboard Wedge host interfaces are supported, with interface cables ordered separately. The Datalogic PowerScan PD9531 is a corded industrial handheld barcode scanner built for operations and IT teams working in demanding environments such as manufacturing, warehouse and logistics centers, and shipping and receiving applications. Part of the PowerScan 9500 series, it uses a 2D area imager to read any orientation of 1D, 2D, stacked, and postal codes from contact to over 1.0 m / 3.3 ft, depending on barcode resolution, eliminating the need to align labels precisely and keeping throughput high. Its ergonomic handle and well-balanced weight at 11.64 oz reduce operator fatigue during scan-intensive shifts, while a soft-pulsed white illumination light is gentler on the eyes than traditional flash-based systems. Multi-interface connectivity via USB, Serial, and Keyboard Wedge ensures straightforward integration with existing workstations and host systems.
