The Datalogic Magellan 2200VS is a wired, on-counter vertical presentation barcode scanner built for retail point-of-sale environments where counter space is limited and transaction throughput matters. Designed specifically for drug stores, convenience stores, smaller to medium-sized grocery stores, DIY stores, and specialty stores, it uses a laser light source with a linear scan pattern across 20 scan lines and a 6,000 rpm motor speed to deliver fast, consistent reads of all standard 1D and GS1 DataBar linear codes. FirstStrike advanced decoding software improves first-pass read rates on damaged, wrinkled, or poorly printed labels, reducing checkout friction. Flash memory enables in-field firmware upgrades to extend the scanner's service life, while a multi-interface design supporting Serial, USB, IBM 46xx, and Keyboard Wedge connections ensures compatibility with a broad range of existing POS host systems.
