TUI Cruises Continues to Rely on Card Printer Solutions from Levata for the 'Mein Schiff' Fleet
TUI Cruises GmbH is one of the leading cruise providers in the German-speaking region. The joint venture between TUI AG and the US cruise company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. employs around 750 people in Hamburg and Berlin.
Business Challenge
With the "Mein Schiff 7," TUI Cruises' feel-good fleet enters its seventh generation in 2024. Since the commissioning of the first cruise ship of the Hamburg-based shipping company in 2009, Levata's Germany-based operation has been supplying TUI Cruises with card printers to ensure smooth and time-saving personalisation and encoding of boarding cards for ship guests and personnel.
The Solution
Levata equips TUI Cruises' "Mein Schiff" fleet with high-performance card printers manufactured by a French-based card printer specialist. A total of about 20 to 25 card printers are required per ship.
"The ID card printers deliver more than 1000 cards per hour in monochrome and up to 150 cards per hour in colour printing, with high-resolution printing of texts, logos, graphics, and barcodes," explains Levata's Germany-based Director Marcus Brand. "The ID card printers we deployed, thanks to one of the highest printing speeds on the market and high-capacity magazine card feeding, is the ideal solution for medium to high printing volumes."
In addition to card printers, Levata supplies TUI Cruises with the corresponding ribbons and cleaning materials. Identbase also provides fast technical support and handles the repair of card printers in case of defects or promptly arranges for replacements.
Benefits and Results
"With 2,000 to 3,000 cards required per trip, we rely on a functioning printing system on board the Mein Schiff fleet. Levata offers us the perfect solution for our needs as a reliable partner," says Paul Goldbeck, Senior Head of IT Operations & Support at TUI Cruises.
